I think the circle of life, is the greatest value in our living, and during my illustrious days I have “dug up” a grand circle of family and friends who make up what I consider as my treasure trove. I have done my best to keep “finding and growing” the important fols in that relationship circle. Because I aim my attention and interests in that direction – it has also become my greatest value. “For where you heart is – there will your treasure be also.” And so it is.
What could be better than acknowleging those who have contributed so much to our lives. Lately I have thought about those that I “do not know” from my genealogical chain and all others who have contributed so much of their lives and efforts at living, that has reached out and touched each of us, influenced us, and yet we know nothing of their contribution – yet. Something tells me, right in the center of my soul, that there are always many people in our lives who contribute so much that we NEVER KNOW.
So, as I fill in this part of my INFORMATION BLOG I think that this part will never end, because I have so many great people in my life. The other issue that I am rather anxious about is the unassumed offense I will create when someone important to me (and very important) will be offended because I haven’t put them up here – soo000n enough. But I do have one great excuse now – I am aging and rather forgetful, so if you feel “left out” please send me an e-mail and I’ll probably “forget” that too – put you can know that I am trying to keep up with this whole virtual reality thing. Pretty good for a guy who has very virtual reality challenged for all of my days anyway. And so it is.
So where do I begin. Ah ha, at the beginning.
My parents found a way to get together and nine months later I came along as their first born child on July 16, 1945. That infamous day was the day the world changed forever. Oh, not because of me – but because it was the day of the first atomic bomb test. That fact has always bothered me, but not that fact that I have had a shot at life and living. It has always bothered me that I had to share that day with such a terrible consequence. At least I would never forget my birthday. And so it is.
My father just passed on to the next adventure and so worthily so. I had a great mother and dad and they measured up in the GREATEST GENERATION and sacrificed as much as they all did, stopping the tyranny that swept up the whole world. And I came along just after everyone got that whole mess cleaned up. I am thankful to both my parents and (like I suggested earlier) that whole generation who glued our world back together with their sacrifice.
Imagine getting your start in a marriage (that lasted all of their days) of sixty four years on the end of such a world wide catastrophy. And then I came along and stirred things up even more. Children to a marriage do that – it is our job. And the three of us – have done a good job of our job. My younger brother Dr. Doug (the other dentist in the family) and our smarter sister – Jocelyn.
I’ll get back to this soon. You need to meet my “circle.”
