SUCCESS MOUNTAINSUCCESS MOUNTAIN IS RIGHT THERE

IN FRONT OF YOU – WAITING TO BE CLIMBED

I know that I shouldn’t temp you beyond your ability to resist, but in my twenty-two thousand days of living and “playing” abudantly with my life and my living – I have come to a serious conclusion.  THE GOOD THINGS IN THIS LIFE are all comparativly uphill – not found in the easy path downhill.  So, early in my own quest for a greater degree of enjoyment and satisfaction for A QUALITY LIFESTYLE – I finally “hung up my dental drill” and retired early (way early) to pursue another form of drilling for profit from my new ParaGraving hobby.  Little did I realize just how “profound” that “…other pathway less traveled would end up being for me.  I think the same will be true for you.  Perhaps that is all you have lacked thus far in your life.

Pick out a pathway that nobody else has gone, and create your own trail.  It isn’t easy, but it ends up being “worth all the difference” in your life and your living.  Promise.

PostHeaderIcon THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS…

THERE IS A “SIGN” IN YOUR PATHWAY THAT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO YOU

My time and effort to produce a blog seems to be “more fun” than work but you would expect that from a guy who promotes and preaches a life and living motto like…

HAVING A GOOD TIME – IS MY JOB

This "thought" changed the course of my life

This "thought" changed the course of my life

What else would you expect.  You might think that “doing just the things that are fun” in life, would be how I tackle everything – but oh – not true.  There is always the “work part” of getting anything worthwhile done.  Considering my book about how to shift your hobby into a great business, this effort has been almost a monster in my life.  I have named it Opportunity Intersection and it has been easily one of the toughest tasks I have ever taken on in years.  I just couldn’t get the “…hobby into a business bible” finished.  But I have learned how to really hang in there over the years – so when something is high on my priority list, I just keep hammering away until it is in the “done” catagory and on its way into the marketplace.

I find that there are a lot of people who can “talk about all that they are going to do in their life” and some of them can talk almost forever, but the amount that they actually “get done” often falls way short of what it really takes to pull most things off.  They spin their wheels constantly, and I am sure to them, it feels like they are “working at it” but all that is really going on – is spin.  And “spin” as Mr. O’ Reilly suggests – does not generally produce much in the process of “success.”

CHECK YOUR OWN “SPIN” GAGE AND SEE IF YOU NEED TO “LET THE SPIN STOP HERE.”

THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION
THE ROAD TO SUCCESS IS ALWAYS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

When Keith Hone first started sharing one of his favorite quotes to help the I&E NETWORK keep growing, and when it came along, it was as if I needed to hear it the most.  I latched onto it years ago, and this thought has become an integral part of my head and heart ever since.

I guess that is why we individually attach to some quotes more than others.  The really timely ideas and concepts seem to “bump into” us and our thinking at almost the perfect time.  So, if that is the case, then I would advise, that you go with the thought.  Maybe we really need to “see or hear” something that would help us with our life and living that is timely and so “…that which we need” shows up as if it were sent by a messenger.  What if… that is exactly the case.

NO MORE FUN THAN THIS
NO MORE FUN THAN THIS

I do believe that there is going to be a next life, and I believe that we are each here for a reason.  If that is the case, then it stands to reason (at least in my reasoning) there must be a whole host of “eternal messengers” involved and interested in how things are going for each of us and if there is any way for them to influence our “directions” wouldn’t it seem that a “good quote” shot across our “bows” on special occasions might be a very helpful thing.

I am always surprised when a particular quote “…hits my soul” a little more dead center – than others.  Maybe you and I are suppost to “pay attention” and that is why they are sent just for us to catch our attention first – and then for us to do someting with that impact.  I usually pass them on.  And Keith’s special quote here about what it takes to succeed in life – is just that kind of a quote – good counsel.

In our circle of talent we “share and extend” this idea to each other all the time.  So, for you too, realize that “going after some degree of success is what your life is all about and the very fact that “the better things in life” are always a serious challenge, don’t set your heart on things that are just easy and fun.  Doing “nothing with your days” is such a waste of yourself.  Just tell yourself that “where you are heading” might be a challenge, but anything worthwhile is always “…under construction” and usually “uphill” in nature.  These are good “signals” so grab hold, and hang in there in concepts that you feel are most important to you and the future of your life.

PostHeaderIcon HAVING A GOOD TIME – IS MY JOB

I have spent the last few days reviewing my last thirty two years – playing for a living.  First of all it doesn’t seem like it has been that involved, but I do know the reason.   HOW TIME FLIES WHEN YOU ARE HAVING FUN.  I found something so enjoyable to do – that for thirty years – it just never feels like “work.”  And coming from my tough professional years as a dentist – my WHOLE NEW HOBBY WORLD changed my whole life.  Who needs to work when you have a great hobby to consume your life?   NOT ME.  I retired early (way early) to play more – and work less.   You should consider the same.

EASTER SEASON – IS MY SEASON – THIS IS WHEN IT ALL HAPPENED.

THE SPRINGTIME OF MY LIFE

It was this weekend – the Saturday just before Easter in 1977.  My young family was busy with our annual eggshell decorating contest, when the idea of a lifetime hit my brain.  I had a secret weapon over at the office and I guessed that my dental drill would “cut out the patterns” that my kids had been putting on their sculptures this year.  I couldn’t resist a try and try it – I did.  The second I touched an eggshell surface for the first time, it opened up a doorway for me that I absolutely didn’t expect and seems now – to have no end.

The primary thing that impresses me thus far, is just how far a person can take their life – if they can once find something to do – that they love doing.   That seems to be the main thing in my life now.  I enjoy what I am doing so much and all of it makes this whole “hobby-based” business effort seem more like a miracle almost every single day.  Rather than the normal struggle.   And my growing circle of talented folks all have enjoyed a similar experience.   Most of us will quickly say…

IF I’D KNOWN THAT A PROFESSIONAL APPROACH TO A HOBBY

COULD BE SUCH A GREAT THING

IN MY LIFE – I WOULD HAVE STARTED A LONG TIME AGO

So… from wherever in the world you might cross my path, let me extend to you my encouragement to find a similar “blessing for your own life.”  Watch for little bits of interest.  Things that you like and play with – can literally  turn into your whole world and is it ever worth going after.  ESPECIALLY AS YOU GET READY TO RETIRE.

Most people simply get into a “habit of working” and end up thinking that that is all there is too life.  What a tragic concept to “swallow.”  There should be some time to “rest and play” a lot more, but we do have to lift our sights a little above just working for a living.

THIS IS MY QUICK LITTLE TEST – HOW MUCH TIME HAVE YOU TAKEN FOR YOURSELF TODAY…?

HOW MUCH TIME HAVE YOU TAKEN FOR YOURSELF – THIS WEEK – THIS MONTH and heaven forbid

THIS YEAR.   WHO IN THE WORLD GETS TO DO WHAT THEY WANT FOR A WHOLE YEAR…?

ME – ME – ME – ME – ME and ME.

I have my “motto” – HAVING A GOOD TIME – IS MY JOB – embroidried on the back of my shirts and whenever I get on an airplane to go somewhere, someone always says… “Gees, I want a job like you.”  Well, if this is your dream – come visit our “world” at Profitable Hobbies . com.  It is a great way to grow old and I can now recommend it with all my heart.  I’ll be at my hobby for another 32 years and loving ever minute of it.

PostHeaderIcon Surviving the Storm of Negativity

THE NEGATIVE MEDIA IS A BAD HABIT

copy-of-gary-price-synergy1

A CONSTANT DIET OF BAD NEWS ISN’T A LIFE OR A LIVING

From the Inspiration & Encouragement Network

There is no question we are what we swallow, and it has become the drum that I am going to pound for the rest of my days. I maintain that if we mix our head and our heart in something (anything) too long – that is what eventually takes over our thinking. And I sense we all know that “good news” doesn’t sell, so the only thing we get now days is just how “bad” life is. In fact we are getting an automatic weapon full of negative news. So, after a few years I just tuned out the bad news and I am going to encourage you to do the same. If you want to figure out just how “habitualized” you are to the news of the day” — just take my little challenge. Turn off your addiction and see if you can pull yourself away from it. IT WILL QUICKLY SURPRISE YOU HOW FAST YOUR ATTITUDE ABOUT LIFE WILL IMPROVE.

There is another way to live and enjoy your self and I found it almost thirty years ago. You can grow old gracefully too. THE SECRET IS TO FIND A GREAT HOBBY. If you find something fun to do, and let “that something” take over your life you will never be strung out again. In fact, I am a part of what I now call the HOBBY EXTREMIST CLUB. Nothing I have ever done has brought me more satisfaction and pure enjoyment in my life – than my new ParaGraving hobby. And for these last enjoyable thirty years I have become sorta/kinda the town crier for the blessings of something that can actually capture your heart and there was actually a time when my professional career almost buried me in the ground.

I was a very busy (but very unhappy) young dentist who was right in the middle of his career but I started having some serious misgivings about my “constant flow of negative days.” I kept thinking to myself. “Surely there must be some other way to go in life than just work – work – work?”

I did make a great living, but what I wanted more than anything was to have A GREAT LIFE. There is a religious scripture that fits my life and living dilemma. Seek and ye shall find. So, I did – and something showed up that was rather profound. I call it now my ORDINARY MIRACLE and it was so fun from the get-go I pursued it with every ounce of my heart and soul. And trust me, if you are lucky enough to discover what a whole bunch of us are playing with – you will light your own fire within that is so sacred and your passionate hobby will rise to the top of your quality lifestyle list as well. When a miracle hits our life, it is a big deal. They don’t show up all the time.

There is a great thought that could help you open some incredible doors of opportunity in your own life – if you swallow it that is.

BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE – FIND A

MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION

My whole life is mixed up into what I call a BETTER LIFE & LIVING SERIES. Because of the fact that so many people are “seeking a better way to grow old” I have been sharing what I “discovered” for a long time now and I encourage you to dig into your own soul a bit deeper and find something that will get that fire within your own soul started. Yes, it takes a little doing, but it sure is GOOD MEDICINE for whatever ails you and I can promise that. It is a passionate prescription and it is the only medicine I prescribe any more. I retired from dentistry “years” early to go play for my life and living and it has been such a blessing in my life. You need to seriously re-consider your own pathway and “come climb with all of us.” We are headed up the PATH LEAST TRAVELED and you are most welcome to climb with us.
