SUCCESS MOUNTAIN IS RIGHT THERE

IN FRONT OF YOU – WAITING TO BE CLIMBED

I know that I shouldn’t temp you beyond your ability to resist, but in my twenty-two thousand days of living and “playing” abudantly with my life and my living – I have come to a serious conclusion.  THE GOOD THINGS IN THIS LIFE are all comparativly uphill – not found in the easy path downhill.  So, early in my own quest for a greater degree of enjoyment and satisfaction for A QUALITY LIFESTYLE – I finally “hung up my dental drill” and retired early (way early) to pursue another form of drilling for profit from my new ParaGraving hobby.  Little did I realize just how “profound” that “…other pathway less traveled would end up being for me.  I think the same will be true for you.  Perhaps that is all you have lacked thus far in your life.

Pick out a pathway that nobody else has gone, and create your own trail.  It isn’t easy, but it ends up being “worth all the difference” in your life and your living.  Promise.

WHAT A DAY TO TRANSFORM OURSELVES – EASTER SUNDAY

There has been a lot happen in my life during the month of April.  It certainly has moved to a place of significant attention by me.  National Tax day that has now ended up as the Tea Party of this century.

I opened my dental office on the 15th in 1975.  That lead to the April day that I first cut an eggshell.  And that silly little action changed the entire course of the rest of my life.  But then again, maybe everything happens for a reason – and what we are doing is simply DISCOVERING OURSELVES.

Wouldn’t that be something and – what if that is the entire reason we are here?  And what if..   we have a promise to get to the center of our souls and “discover” our strengths – and over come our weaknesses?  Oh, that is a huge WHAT IF… but a significant idea.

I feel blessed to go after a “new dream” even though I had invested all my years of formal education, I was easily the most unhappy dentist camper and when I started investing more in my “new hobby world” the difference for me personally was profound.  I hated going to the clinic every day – I loved my time with new passionate hobby.  How could I have gone any other way?

If you visit with anyone else who has found something to do – that they absolutely love doing (and they have also found a way to get paid well to do it) it is almost embarrasing because “work” isn’t supposed to be fun – ever.  But when you find someone who does enjoy their work – they are generally few and far between, so besure to ask them how they “transformed their lives” as well and to a “person” they will tell you that what they did was “…pick up a thread of interest” and never let go.  They climbed a mountain of their own choice and never gave up – never – never – never.

So… how do you find that thread of interest.  I found a unique and powerful way to do that very thing.  All though I started out my journal as a bit of an obsession, I gradually began to see that what I had “collected” in my journal was like a virtual mirror back on my interests.  For years, I have collected what I call “zingers” and put them into one place.  I call it my BUSINESS WORKING JOUNRAL.  I made a sorta/kinda business plan (life & living) plan when I was young and I have enjoyed collecting for years, all the neat stuff I loved and dreamed about.  Then, as I started to really spend even more time with this collection of my “interests” I started to see a pattern of the very things that I loved a great deal.  And all I did when I began to “see” this pattern was lean my life that way.

Again, if you get into most people’s lives (those who have succeeded at something, the pattern is almost the same again.

A GREAT DREAM…

LEADS TO SOME HOPE…

WHICH LEADS TO SOME FAITH…

WHICH LEADS TO SOME TRYING AND DOING…

AND THAT EFFORT ALWAYS LEADS TO EXPERIENCE

WHICH IN TURN SHOULD BEGIN TO IMPROVE OUR JUDGEMENT

AND THAT MY FRIEND, WILL LEAD YOU TO TRUE CAPACITY…

Which, if you are in love with what you are doing – will produce results that are even “beyond” anything that you could ever imagine.  I promise.

HELLO… AGAIN WORLD

(At least, if you are a part of the positive people left in this world)

DO YOU EXPECT THE WORST – OR ENJOY THE BEST IN YOUR LIFE?

I am excited about the “permanent” nature of a blog.  It is like being your own publisher, editor, commentator, judge and jury – all wrapped up in one.  I intend to spend a bit more time – sorting out more of what I hope will be “…some of my better counseling moments” because that is what I do now.  At least until I am gone.  Wisdom in my youth was what I went after most.  It wasn’t too hard to see that some people where “off a zillion miles” in what it took to have a great lifestyle.  COUNSEL & ADVICE from those who had climbed SUCCESS MOUNTAIN, was my compass as an adventurer.

I figured out early that following the rush of the crowd downhill wasn’t the way to go.   Don’t let the norm be your compass, but do give heed to wisdom’s counsel.  The DISCOVERY of your own UNIQUENESS is the ace/trump card in the deck of life.  (And that’s a quote directly from me to you).

I have “traveled in my life where few ever travel – and I am now leaving a trail of sorts.”  A BLOGGING TRAIL – LESS TRAVELED.    THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED – HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN INCREDIBLE AND SERIOUSLY WORTHWHILE PATH FOR ME.   And because of that (if I am as lucky  – as I have been thus far) SOMEONE – SOMEWHERE – will need to hear my virtual voice, at the very moment they need some inspiration or encouragement.   Good counsel always shows up “exactly when we most need it.”  At a near perfect time.  If you “blog it” they will come.  I believe that MY WORDS will end up – right where they need to be – with who needs to hear them most.  I am just the messenger.

SO, THESE WORDS – MY WORDS – MUST BE UPLIFTING.  Of all things – uplifting.  And they will continue to be just that.  This practical adventure with reality that we call life and living, can really be difficult at times, and on occasions down right nasty.   BUT… as I watched (and listened) as a youngster to some people who always seemed to find a way to get passed any adversity, and still have a great life – these people became my constant INSPIRATION & ENCOURAGEMENT.  And to me, while I was setting the course for the rest of my days, I was making some very deep and long lasting decisions about my own ATTITUDE ABOUT LIFE AND LIVING – THAT IS THE TIME TO NOTE TRUE VALUE AND SWALLOW IT – HOOK – LINE AND SINKER.  This is good advice.

I think it now my turn to pass along a more uplifting philosophy as well.  THERE IS PLENTY OF NEGATIVE and being negative is a deeply held habit that the entire world has swallowed long enough.

WHAT HAPPENED TO – THANK YOU – AND PLEASE.

Somewhere in my youth, I made that singular decision that seems to affect your ATTITUDE from then on.  Looking at the “glass half-full” starts very early and is usually passed on by someone who also “sees life” more that same way and finds great value in noting and encouraging the positive side and true value of life and living.  I find that most people either have a “…largely negative slant on everything” or they are “…mostly positive” minded people.  I prefer positive – and I prefer positive, faithful, hopeful, supportive people to hang with – as well.  Life isn’t the news – or the media.   And life is too short to miss the real value.   A negative perspective drains your senses of the wonder and majesty of your own living and diminishes the value in our relationships.   WE MAKE AND PRESERVE (and I think we should protect) THE REAL VALUE TO OUR LIFE.  YOU WILL FIND THE REAL “GEMS” IN LIFE AMOUNG LONG TERM FRIENDS – ANCESTRALLY LINKED LOVED ONES – AND THOSE BLESSED NEW FOLKS WHO – ON SPECIAL OCCASIONS – CROSS YOUR PATHWAY – AND THEIR HEAD AND HEART WILL UPLIFT YOU – AS  THEY GO THEIR WAY TOO.

What if tomorrow were your last day here on earth?

Or, what if tomorrow, you were to loose your very best friend in the whole world.   And what if… you could somehow know it heading into the day?  Would you not knock yourself out – trying to find a way to “connect” at least one more time and express some sort of deeper appreciation and affection for that person.   MAYBE – THIS IDEA WILL HELP YOU SORT OUT THE REAL VALUE QUICKLY and it will also help you realize how little the “price” of anything really matters.  Tell yourself… “Let’s see – I only have a few minutes, so I think I’ll shine up the car one more time – or go shopping and buy some fancy things so everyone will at least think I have value in my life.”   Oh, gosh, by gosh – I hope not – by gosh.

Wouldn’t you want the important people in your life to know (like your family and your best friends) just how much you appreciate them?  Good  Lord, I have some close friends and dear loved ones that I will introduce you to in the next little while.  If you knew there was little time left, couldn’t you maybe carve out a little bit of your valuable “time” and tell at least some of them, how much they really mean to you?  When was the last time your told someone you have loved and appreciated – just how much they really mean to you?  Maybe like a FOREVER LETTER – gees I wonder where that thought came from?

I just lost my dad, and all I have heard since he died, is…  “Gees, Lew, I sure wish I had told your dad how neat he was – and how much he helped me over the years.  You sure had a great dad.”  People can’t just “divine out by magic” how much they have contributed to your life.   You have to tell them – and “right now” would be a good time to do that.  Like Emerson said (and did he not say – so much – so well?)

A FRIEND MAY WELL BE THE MASTERPIECE OF NATURE

Blogging seems to me to have become such a popular (and very valuable tool) just for these TWO GREAT BLESSINGS.   In two ways it produces tremendous value – if we make it so.   ONE – it will float out through the reality circles of our lives and relationships.  THOSE THAT ALREADY KNOW US.   It is a means to “thank” the world for the special people that already know us.   And it is my prayer and promise that I will only share – “uplifting, inspiring and encouraging stuff” for all of you who have done so much to help me with my life and living.  Because of so many of you – I have most often enthsiastic and I love life. You can generally count on Lew Jensen spreading only THE GOOD MEDICINE.

But the SECOND blessing however, is the amazing one.  There are virtually “others, who I have never met,” and yet we will cross paths somehow, and in this amazing virtual process – we will meet – and maybe like what the other is sharing – or not.  That is all of great value to me – that I would not have found any other way.

So, if you are a “POSITIVE  CENTERED SOUL” the odds are quite good that we might get to know each other better.   I would like that.   But if you are of a largely NEGATIVE PERSUASION – we probably won’t travel together for long – if at all.   As I said, life is too short for all the negative and “bad crap” the world is dishing out.  We are all asked to swallow a ton of the worst that life can deliver these days.  What about today.  I watched a rooster and hen pheasant (georgeous creatures) getting their new family ready.  I got to watch them quietly for over an hour.  I had forgotten how beautiful MOTHER NATURE always is.  Then, I listened to a gang of little yellow finiches for as long.  WHAT A BLESSED DAY IT WAS.  When was the last time you too, had that kind of “time just to soak in how incredible your world really is?”   It isn’t the news folks – it isn’t.   And I had so much fun with some of my breathes today?  How about you?  Who is in charge of that department?

IT IS YOUR REAL VALUE IN THIS ENTIRE LIFE.   Trust me on this one.

It is amazing, but some people know the PRICE of everything , but the real value of almost nothing.   The PRICE of anything is very questionable.   The PRICE of everything is a mere perception of value, and  I’ll bet you, on the very last breath you take in this life, that you will measure the real VALUE of some things – as of immeasurable value.   SHOWHOW, WE ARE ALL GENUINE PEARLS AND DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH.   And if you count every day as if it were your last, you will do a better job with your “positive blogging” and finding the real value in your living.   So…let’s positively blog away and stay connected with the positive things that uplift your soul and spirit.  And then, you of all people, will end up happy and thankful for your days.   Staying true to the value in your living produces the greatest contentment and satisfaction that you can find.  The very thing that so many people seem to be missing these days.   Go to your most centered place first, fix your own head, heart, hands and soul, and then radiate your influence and support outward from the best that there is in you.   GOD DOESN’T MAKE ANY JUNK.  Ever heard that the light in one candle – can hold back all the darkness?

I BELIEVE THAT WE EACH CREATE THE REAL VALUE IN OUR OWN LIVES  – AND IT IS NOT FOUND IN THE THINGS THAT WE CAN BUY.    It still is in the relationships, ideas and memories that we gather, produce, treasure and share.   So, join me -  in that search for the real value in life and living – and start “lifting the load for others.”

I surely don ‘t know – or I have no idea…  how sad is that ?

Have you never dug deep enough to uncover your “true purpose” for being here ?

I suppose there are some people people who never even want to know if they have any eternal purpose or direction or not.   Because knowing your honest reason for “you” being here would then require that we “do something” about it.

With knowledge of your purpose comes commitment and dedication.  And without it – there is little obligation and no responsibility.

But since we go round only once in this life…

How can there be anything more important than finding out if you do have a “purpose” in this life ?

Is there anything that “eternity” has given for just you to accomplish ?

As I was younger, I thought surely there must be something.  But as I grew older, and I still hadn’t “found” what I was looking for…  I sorta/kinda/somewhat gave up the quest.

Finally, I spotted a quote that “split the mountan” that faced me then and perhaps you now face the same dragon.  If you are telling yourself, “I have lived a few years, paid my bills and taxes…”

IS THIS ALL THERE IS TO MY LIFE & LIVING?

There has to be more – but what is “it” – and where might I find “it” and then “someone has the brass to suggest” that I might even expect a miracle.  Yea, like a miracle has ever come along in my life before.  So, is it time to put away my expectation of hope and possibilities…

Or, is there buried deep within the soul of every human being…

Something that keeps shining the light of opportunity.

Something that keeps our head floating above all the negativity.

Something that gives us hope – when all seems lost and hopeless…

The purpose and direction of our lives is to uncover our talents and share them with the world, so please do not tell yourself ever again that you don’t have any talents.  We all do.  But for some reason we have to be the one who discovers this eternal fact about ourselves.  After so many years of coaching artistic talent, I now know that everyone (every single person on earth) has many talents to play with and grow during their lifetime.

After a few years of my own struggles, I finally figured out that life is a journey – not a destination.  It isn’t a game of collecting toys and then you win.  The “stuff” in our lives doesn’t amount to the real value there should be to “OURSELVES.”  The whole value to anyone is the talents and gifts that we can uncover, develop, and share and the friendships and memories that we produce along the way.  A great heart is of extreme value.

SIMPLE AND PROFOUND – YET RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES ALL THE TIME.

All we have to do is wake-up and see with new

imagination and creative new eyes.  Oh – I.C.

During my youth I couldn’t help notice that some folks seemed to make the journey through life in much better style – than others.  I could see even then, that most people were completely locked into making a living, and if life was like a suitcase, some people seemed to be able to “pack” a great deal more into their living – than others.  I wanted a full, rich (and fully packed) and rewarding lifestyle – and I finally found it.  But it showed up from a mere “thread of a hobby interest” – not exactly where I thought it might be found.

Half-way through my days, I discovered the secret of growing old starts with a great hobby.  And with tremendous enthusiasm I really sank my heart and soul into this new ParaGraphics pastime of mine.  Gradually I found a way to grow a great life into my living – and the rest (for over thirty years now) has seemed at times just like magic.  In every way, I feel like I have INVENTED MY OWN PARADISE in this lifetime.

Everyone you know makes a living – so that they can then do something else to try to have a life.  The wise ones in this life find a way to concentrate on their talents and gifts – and make “that” their living.

The secret of a grand life is to make your living – your life.

And the near perfect way to get this whole “paradise is this lifetime” process started is by starting a great little profitable hobby.  Confucius had it figured out thousands of years ago when he said…

“IF YOU CAN EVER FIND SOMETHING THAT YOU LOVE DOING

YOU WILL NEVER WORK ANOTHER DAY IN YOUR LIFE.”

The key ingredient of a QUALITY LIFESTYLE is discovering and developing your individual uniqueness.  If you just pick up a thread of interest and never let go – persisting with a great hobby – until you uncover your gifts and talents, will eventually unlock the secret of your whole life and living.  If you will dedicate your life to growing your talents to a point where you can then share those unique gifts with the world – there is absolutely nothing better.  This quest has been called a magnificent obsession – and with good reason.  So, don’t forget…

UNDERNEATH YOUR TALENTS AND GIFTS

LIES THE VERY PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE…

Once you understand what your true purpose in life might be – the entire direction you should travel throughout the remainder of your days will also show up.  So, before it too late, your first priority should be the finding of your own magnificent obsession.  We each have a distinct reason for being alive and a purpose for all the struggles that come from this life and living.  And with my circle of “super stars” – now I can prove it.

And the second you figure out – this critical uniqueness key – the rest of your life will thrill you.  Then you will have such great reasons for waking up and going after your “better life” every single day.  I can promise – your view of everything will change for the better.  The searching for your own talents will get the fire within you burning, because you will finally be on the right-track and you will know that you are headed exactly where you should have been going all along.  Then the most amazing part is a special inward peace and what I think is the real gift from the heavens – TRUE PASSION FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL STARTS TO RADIATE FROM YOUR SOUL AND STARTS TO SHOW UP IN YOUR ARTISTIC EXPRESSIONS. This incredible gift comes as a confirmation of your efforts, persistence and your enthusiasm.  Then “nothing on earth” can stop your progress from then on.

WE CALL IT AN ORDINARY MIRACLE

Ordinary to everyone around us – but a miracle perhaps within.

And once you’ve found your own miracle, we invite you to come climb, hunt and grow old
